[The house] sits on a wooded headland overlooking a teal-colored bay and is accessible only by boat… It’s a five-minute walk to the closest beach, but we could—and did—swim in the warm, crystalline waters of the bay from our private dock. The three main bedrooms overlook the bay and, though sparsely furnished, have fine linens, well-stocked book-shelves, and showroom-worthy en suite bathrooms. As for my staff? A local woman made breakfast and tidied up the house. For an extra $15 a day she prepared simple, delicious dinners… the Wi-Fi never quite worked, but we didn’t miss it much, busy as we were catnapping in hammocks or whipping up caipirinhas in the impressively equipped kitchen. For three lazy days we rarely saw another soul…
