From the House

Paraty Bay is awash with opportunities for water-based fun, ranging from energetic activities such as kayaking, SUP and diving to totally chilled out sunbathing and swimming sessions. Snorkelling is fun, easily available and virtually free, while horse riding along the water’s edge is wonderful way to see this picturesque town and its bay.

Things to do

Walks

At the back of Casa Cairucu is a footpath that winds about 40 minutes in either direction, past the houses of neighbours to beaches and bays. In one direction to Praia do Engenho, in the other to Praia Vermelha. We can also help you organise longer hikes in the mountains and forests of the mainland through our friends at Paraty Explorer.

Kayaking

Kayaking is a great way to get out and about from Casa Cairucu, whether it be to nearby islands, restaurants or beaches. We can also optionally organise longer sea kayaking trips further afield – for example the beautiful mangrove at the far end of Saco de Mamangua.

Stand Up Paddle

Stand Up Paddle is big in Brazil, and Paraty is no exception. The calm waters of Paraty Bay offer a gorgeous backdrop and there is no better place than to paddle out from our house. We can optionally organise additional boards and instruction.

Swimming and Snorkelling

You don’t have to be a diver to appreciate the underwater beauty of Paraty Bay. Snorkelling is a fun way to get a close look at some of the colourful sea creatures that live here. Bring your own mask and snorkel and we’ll show you the best spots, or snorkel straight from the house’s own pier

Boat trips in the Bay

The Bay is yours to discover. See our guide on the Bay for more information. We’ll guide you to explore this amazing car-free world of coves and beaches, snorkelling spots, forests, mountains and secluded communities.
